A biography of four generations of the Sanford family. Three generations of Sanfords were US Congressmen from New York State. The family also owned a large carpet manufacturing business in Amsterdam NY, and were successful breeders of thoroughbred race horses. “Laddie” Sanford, from a more recent generation of Sanfords, was a polo player of international renown, and a prominent socialite.
