A Greys Lance Fly Rod can strike at your heart (in a good way) if you love medium-fast action fly fishing rods with plenty of reserve power and accuracy. The Lance is Grey’s introduction to its performance fly rod range, and the all-around Lance series promises to execute well above its budget-friendly price range with the kinds of features often found in higher-priced leading models. For instance, Greys designed the Lance rod series with intermediate modulus carbon fiber material for a wonderful casting sweet spot and recovery and endows the rods with AAA cork handles. High-quality all-alloy reel seats add durability without the weight. Dual locking nuts secure your reel. Single-foot circular guides help keep your fly line off the blank, and lined stripper guides follow through on the lightweight feel of the rod, which spans line weights 3 through 8. The eight-weight Lance fly rods include full wells grips with extended handles and fighting butts, while the rest relies on reverse half-wells styling. The muted gray finish on the blank favors stealthy substance over flash. Novice and experienced anglers who want a high-performing rod with some merit for tossing dry flies, wet flies, or streamers would gain just that with the well-appointed Greys Lance Fly Rod.
